| What better way is there to start
your New Year than with a class (or two) at the Trove? Listed below is
the entire class list for February through May, 2008. Some classes are
brand new, some are taking a break, and some are still plugging along.
Please click here and read the
registration form before you register so you can be familiar with the policy
before you register. You may print it and mail it in or pay over the
phone or in person. We suggest that you register at least 1 week
before the class, as classes with no or low registrations are cancelled
before the date of the class. It also allows preparation time for the
teachers. Images show examples of what the instructors created,
but do not represent exactly what you will make. Be your own artist! |

Little Beauties Doll and Embellishment Class

Cost: $95

Pictured is an example of one of her many Little Beauties.
Yours will look like your own!
Connie
Lehman from near Denver, Colorado will be holding an all-day workshop at St

her work is inspired by the Tarot. Her class will inspire you to take a
journey of discovery through the creation of a Little
Beautie, a small doll of your very own.
Connie Lehman's Beauties are intensely personal and full of meaningful
detail. In this class you will make your own Little
Beautie using beads, sequins, buttons, beading thread, scraps of
silk, feathers, scissors, old earrings, found objects, sticks, shells,
fabric markers - some of these things you can bring from your own stash.
St Theresa Textile will have plenty of inspiring supplies as well.
Supply List:
Kits will be available for purchase at the store on the day of the class,
which will include beading/sewing needles, cotton fiberfil, and other
items needed for basic construction. Connie will have needlepunch needles
available for about $18. Other than that, you are free to purchase beads
and any other embellishments you want from the Trove or bring your own, or
a combo of both. No sewing machine needed!
Registration is complete when it is paid in full.

Polymer Clay Beadmaking (Part 2)
(Single Session)
Sunday, May 4
12pm-4pm
Class size: 2-5
$55
Instructor: Amy E Wallace
(a.k.a. Ovenfried Beads)
This class is a follow-up to the beginning beadmaking class
listed above. It’s ideal for those who have played with the
clay but would like to learn some new and different techniques. Clay
extrusion, mirror-imaging, and some complex cane-building will be covered.
Bring your questions, some of your leftover canes and your favorite tools
and expand your own personal style in polymer clay. There is a lot of
time for experimentation as well, as this class is not as structured as the
beginning class, but also relies more on the students'
imagination for guidance. A basic understanding of simple
canebuilding is required so that the student can
go to the ‘next step’. Clay will be available, but it’s recommended
that the students bring their own preferred brand and
colors.
Pasta machines will be provided. (Sorry, Amy does not
teach face or flower canes, but she can help you figure out how!)
